on guard!

Last night we went to Fuddruckers to eat dinner.  There was a sweet, sweet lady there making balloon animals.  Charlie spotted her the minute we went to sit down at a table and told me that he wanted a sword, a shield and a hat.  (He had seen another boy walk by with those three items.)  And, of course, Philip wanted the same.  Charlie watched her like a hawk, asking every minute when she was coming to our table, until she made her way towards us.  Neither were done eating their dinner so she told them that if they would eat their dinner, she would come back and make whatever they wanted.

After a little while, she came back.  She started with Philip.  She told him that if he would eat a bite of his hamburger then she'd blow up a balloon for him.  He quickly took a bite.  :)  He had decided on a flying dragon (once we figured out what he was saying).  The little boy at the table beside us had gotten a fire-breathing dragon.

She then moved to Charlie.  He stuck to wanting a sword.  Daniel had told him that he could only have one.  The balloon lady said it was a slow night so she proceeded to deck them out in balloons!  Philip insisted on a purple sword.  Charlie had gotten a purple hat/helmet so Philip wanted one as well but she had already started on a blue hat for him.  Luckily, Charlie traded.  Whew!  Crisis averted!  :)  That 2 yr old can pitch some kind of fit so we try and avoid them if possible.

So Charlie and Philip ended up with a sword, a sword holder (orange belt), a shield and a helmet...plus a flying dragon.  They were beside themselves.  And in true mommy fashion, I didn't have my camera with me at the restaurant but got them to show off their haul when we got home...
