preparations and waiting...

Daniel and I have been preparing for the last week or so for the baby to arrive. It's hard to just sit and wait, especially not knowing how long you are going to have to wait. We've managed to get pretty much everything in line for the arrival of Charlie. The car seat is in the car, the bags are packed. We have the crib and changing table in the nursery, a cradle in the bedroom, and a pack n play in the living room. The changing table and pack n play are both stocked with diapers, wipes, etc. Most of the receiving blankets, burp cloths, washcloths, etc. have been washed. Daniel and I were folding laundry last night and kept pulling out these tiny little socks! We would both just giggle every time we pulled one out.

We've still got a little bit of clutter control in the nursery due to the generous amount of gifts we have been given. We've also got a couple of things left to put up on the walls in the nursery but hopefully that will be done this weekend sometime. I'll try and post some new pictures of the nursery since we've done more work in there.

As of yesterday, I am 37 weeks along. This baby has reached full term and I'm so grateful! I have just about run out of clothes to wear. I'm pretty much down to wearing the same things each week. Just trying to mix them up a little. The baby has started to drop but that's the only indication I have that labor is near other than watching the calendar.

My energy level is completely gone. I push myself pretty hard at night just trying to get some things done since I work during the day still. I'm not really getting in my full 40 hours during the week but I get pretty close. Luckily, my work is getting done regardless and I have a boss who pretty much lets me do what I want as long as my work gets done. He's been great through the whole pregnancy, even knowing that I'm not coming back to work after the baby is born.

Well, there's an update for you...

Daniel and I are really excited about the arrival of the baby. I realize it's probably not coming across that way from my blog but that's just because I'm at the point that I'm tired of being pregnant so you get to hear all the woes instead of the joy. I've read many comments from mothers-to-be on the internet that feel the same way so that took some of the guilt out of it. I want this baby to stay in the womb as long as he needs to. I'm just worn down and want my normal size feet back. :)

Registered Architect!

I just can't sit still in my chair today! I just found out that I passed all the parts of my Architecture Registration Exam! So, I am now a registered architect! I even have a license number! God is so good to me! He gave my the strength/knowledge to survive the ARE and pass the first time!

As I accept this great honor...I would like to thank my husband for the many hours he has willingly played the computer with his headphones on and for the many dinners he has prepared so that I could study. Seriously, though, he has been my rock. A big thanks to my parents and Daniel's parents for the endless support and encouragement as well as to my many friends who have done the same. (tear) :) It really has meant alot. None of you doubted me when I doubted myself.

Woo hoo! I'm just so excited!

baby shower in TN

The weekend before last, my extended family threw a combination baby/wedding shower for me and for my cousin Beth. She is getting married June 16, 2007. It was so great to see all of them. I wish I could see them all more but life gets so busy that we just can't seem to all get together. I was really excited to see my grandmother. I'm going to have to make a point to get up there and see her more. We got some great gifts as did Beth and Jonathan. The food was incredible, just way too much. It was a feast for an army! We also drove over to Sparta, TN, Saturday afternoon to visit with my other grandmother. After the ride up there and over to her house, I was completely exhausted so I wasn't very good company for her but atleast I got to visit with her. We took lots of pictures both places so I wanted to post some of them...

mondays...

As always, I tend to overdo on the weekends so Mondays are normally pretty rough for me. Tuesdays are worse. My capacity to do things on the weekends diminishes each week. I saw this cartoon today and it fit my mood pretty good...

the "belly"

For those who don't see me that often, I thought I would post a couple of pictures so you could see the "belly". Just no "Man she's getting big!" comments. Only "Oh, she's so cute with that belly." comments. :) These were taken at my grandmother's house this past weekend. I'm about 34 weeks along.

The shower at my grandmother's went well. I'll post more about it later...
