Charlie turns 5!

May 4, 2012 - Charlie was so excited to finally turn 5!  All his buddies in his class had turned 5 and he had been waiting on this for months!  He decided he wanted Lightning McQueen cupcakes to take to his class...

On his/her birthday, each child got to be the line leader on their birthday and Charlie was no exception.  Here he is in his leader cape and leading the prayer before snack...


Then...on to cupcakes!  Philip enjoyed them too!

Later that afternoon, our next door neighbors, Nathan, Jessica, Mr. Tim and Ms. Debbie, came to visit and wish Charlie a "Happy Birthday" since they weren't going to be able to make his party.  They enjoyed cupcakes too!

Atlanta Zoo

May 2, 2012 - Charlie's PreK4 class took a field trip to the Atlanta Zoo.  Philip and I tagged along as well so I had my two plus one more to keep up with.  Whew!  That was a chore and one of mine was in a stroller the majority of the time!  I had Charlie and Jack under my watchful eyes...

swimming lessons

Charlie took swimming lessons again last month at the West Cobb Aquatic Center. He did progress a little this year but still lacks the courage to just go for it himself. We're going to work on that this summer at our neighborhood pool.

Joust the musical

The elementary school program at Charlie's school put on a play/musical on April 28, 2012. The PreK4 class, which is Charlie's class, got to be extras.  Here is a picture of the musical...

The kids in Charlie's class got to play jesters.  The lighting is awful in the auditorium so my pictures are not great but here's what I captured in pics and video.

Here is a little video I took of Philip on April 17, 2012, so that would make him almost 21 months old.  I was really wanting to catch the word "banana" before it changed (which it did shortly after) but added in alot of his other words as well...

Easter baskets

April 13, 2012 - After our Elba trip, Terry and Kathy Moore came by the house and brought the boys Easter baskets that included these great fold up mats with pockets.  I had made one for a friend of mine's little boy so I made one for Philip as well.  Kathy included it in his basket but she made the mat for Charlie.  The baskets included other goodies too!  The boys loved it all!

Imagine It! Children's Museum - March 2012

March 8, 2012 - The whole gang went to the Imagine It! Children's Museum in downtown Atlanta.  Here are our best shots at getting everyone to look at the camera.  :)

The pictures tell the story of this visit so I'll just post pics from the various stations.

First up were the balls and tracks.  There are various places for you to turn wheels, pull pulleys, etc. to get the balls to move. 

Charlie enjoyed throwing the balls up and over the fencing into the water.  Then you turn a wheel to make them go up a pulley type thing and then onto a track where it rolled to something else.

There is also a crane that you can move around and dump more balls...


There is a place to play with trains and cars on wooden tracks.  Charlie didn't play with this as much as the little ones did.

 There was a big banana to slide down...

There was a grocery store and farmer's market complete with buggies...

Moon sand to play with...

A kitchen to play and cook in...

And, of course, you can't forget about the fishing area...

The highlight of the trip was the "Clifford, the Big Red Dog" exhibit that was there this time. All the kids LOVED this area!  The kids were just so quick everywhere that I didn't get many pics of the rest of the exhibit except for what my boys were on.  *shrug*

Charlie's favorite thing was what I call the "big bone conveyor".  He spent the majority of his time here, turning that wheel...

All the kids just had fun in Clifford's big dog bowl...

If I remember correctly, Philip was asleep before we got out of the parking lot.  Charlie wasn't far behind him.  I guess that means they had fun.  I know I did just watching them.
