Philip's 3rd Birthday Party

July 27, 2013 - Philip turns 3!  Since moving to Cambridge, Charlie and Philip have really gotten into Fireman Sam so that was Philip's choice for his party theme.  I tried to go simple since we were just having neighbors and the Chadwicks over.  Here are pics from his birthday party...

This was my first time without my sis to make the cake or cupcakes.  I had her send me her recipe though!  Everyone was complimentary of the cupcakes so I call it a success!

Philip did get a few presents...

And the Chadwick kids were happy to play Beyblades with Philip and Charlie in his new stadium.
And...there's always being silly pics...

A new house in Cambridge

July 3, 2013 - Today we moved into our house in Cambridge.  Out of the temporary apartment and into something a little more permanent.  The Wards now reside on Richmond Road.
It's a beautiful residential street.  The houses here were built in the 1890's.  It's a semi-detached house and we're getting used to hearing bumps and bangs that are not ours.

It's walking distance to the city centre of Cambridge so we still have easy access to everything by foot or bike.  It's been such a nice change to not have to take the car everywhere!

So, here's our new humble abode:  (Note:  these were taken on viewing day.)
Living Room:
Dining Room:
Kitchen:

Back Garden with summer house and storage shed:

Charlie claimed the summer house the minute he saw it.  He kept telling me he wanted the house with the two sheds.  I knew it was the house for us when Charlie was excited about it too!
Up to the First Floor (in the States this would be called the Second Floor).  The boys' room and main bathroom:
Going up to First Floor 1 1/2 is the Master Bedroom and a third bedroom.  There are a few steps between the front and the back of the house.
Now, we head to the Second Floor where we have turned the fourth bedroom into a playroom for the boys.  There is also a second bathroom and access to the attic:
Hope you have enjoyed the tour!  I'll try and post some pics with furniture.  However, that's a hard task with two little boys living here and a lazy housekeeper!  Maybe I should just post the "lived-in" look.  :)
