Little Philip just can't hold out sometimes. He tickles me how he can fall asleep anywhere. This is just new to me because Charlie NEVER did that...still won't do that!

Project Escape
Daniel plays in a band named "Project Escape". They played their first gig on February 24, 2012, at Cuppy's Coffee. It was a small venue so Daniel and I were a little concerned at how the boys would do with that much noise. I took reinforcements (Kathy and Morgan) with us just in case the boys needed to leave so I could stay.
I was so excited to see Daniel play again! It's been so long since I've seen him on a drum set. I guess the last time was high school so watching him play definitely brought back some young love feelings. It's funny how that works. And, yes, I was excited to see/hear the other three guys play too since they are friends of mine. :)
The boys did great with the music. Charlie was a little hesitant at first but warmed up to it quickly. Philip...well, he loved the music from the get-go!
No concert would be complete without your drink of choice...
And, of course, Daddy let his boys try out the drums...
I was so excited to see Daniel play again! It's been so long since I've seen him on a drum set. sweet memories...
February 23, 2012 - I am always so happy that my boys get to enjoy their great grandmother each time we go to Elba to visit. Charlie won't climb up in her lap anymore but Philip sure will. You just can't pass up these kind of moments in life...
valentines...
February 12, 2012 - Charlie and I made valentines for each of the kids in his class for his upcoming Valentine's Day party. Charlie is all into crafty which makes this mama happy because it's something I love as well. I saw this little idea online and found the Teddy Grahams one day at Publix for BOGO!!! Woo hoo! Too bad I didn't have a coupon but I digress...
I cut out the hearts on Kathy's cricut and made the stickers out of address labels on the computer. Easy peasy and they turned out so cute! Charlie had fun practicing his writing by putting each child's name on their valentine.
(Sorry for the no shirt pics but in this house, if you want to catch the moment, it's hard to stop and say "Ok. Go put on a shirt so I can take your picture." You're lucky he had on pants.)

Funk Heritage Center
February 4, 2012 - Daniel's parents came up for a visit for his birthday. A friend of theirs told them about a tool museum up in Waleska, GA, so they had mentioned that the next time they were up here that we should all go...so off we went to Waleska that Saturday.
The museum is called the Funk Heritage Center and is on the campus of Reinhardt University. As you will tell from the pictures it is alot of Native American collections as well as architecture.
There is also, as I mentioned, the Sellars Gallery of Historic Hand Tools. It's a collection featuring tools from more than 100 crafts and was quite impressive not only from the vast amount of tools that were there but just how they were displayed. What beautiful works of art! Here is a little blurb from the website about this display: "Acquired by Marietta businessman Alan Sellars, this astonishing exhibit includes thousands of tools dating from as early as the 17th century. The individual panels depict a wide variety of trades -- and the design of each panel is a work of art in itself. Why tools? Because they tell the story of the rise of craft and technology in western Europe and North America."
As you can tell, I couldn't stop taking pictures. They were all just so amazing. I also wanted to be able to go back and enjoy the exhibit since I didn't really get to while we were there. It was either Charlie running around and screaming/squealing or this...
I wanted my inlaws to have a chance to enjoy the exhibit, as well as Daniel, so I wrangled up the kids and took them outside. Luckily, there was back area for them to run around in. Papa eventually joined us as well.
And, I tried to get a cute picture of the boys. Charlie wouldn't sit still long enough and with Philip, I either get this...

I did get the sweetest picture of them with their Papa though...

Charlie's bowling trip
December 23, 2011 - Charlie did finally make it through his potty chart a few weeks back. (I thought I had a pic. *shrug*) His last reward was a bowling trip. We finally found a Friday night to take him. Kathy and Terry Moore joined us for our fun night. We all just had so much fun! My pics of Charlie don't even do it justice so here's the video...
Philip enjoyed bowling as well. I would help him roll it down the lane and then we would cheer!
He also was intrigued by the bowling balls and especially the holes in them. :)
And, then, like any bowling alley, we had to stop at the arcade games. Luckily, Charlie still hasn't figured out that you put coins in them to actually play so he just enjoys sitting in the seat, etc. Philip, of course, had to follow suit.

January 27, 2012 - Philip loves to help me unload the dishwasher. Teaching them young... :)
Ringing in 2012
January 1, 2012 - After worship that morning, we headed to my aunt and uncle's house in Dawsonville to celebrate New Years. This has become an annual thing for my dad's family so it's always nice to see the ones that get to come and I am always excited to for them to see my boys. For some of them, that's the only time they get to unless there is some other celebration in the family that year.
And, as always, they come bearing gifts for Charlie and Philip. As you'll see from the pics, one of those gifts this year came from my Aunt Retta and Uncle Randy. A Buzz Lightyear costume! Charlie had to immediately put it on and wore it the majority of the day. :) Here are a few other pics of the boys and their gifts...
Good food. Good fellowship. Not so good Dirty Santa game... That's our usual Hall Hoard get-together! :)

A Christmas visit to TN
December 2011 - We visited my grandmother for a couple of days between Christmas and New Year's. She is always so happy to see us come in and I'm sure just as happy to see us leave. :) We wear her out!
The boys love her house because it has so much yard and driveway to play in...and Grandma and Grandpa are always there with us! Even in December, there are a few hours during the day that outside play is possible!
Charlie and Philip both enjoyed helping Granny open her presents...
We also got to see both of my cousins and their families during our visit. That hasn't happened in a long time so I was ecstatic over this! We went to eat lunch that day...all 13 of us and whew!!! was that an adventure since 5 of them were kids! :) I did manage to get a picture of Granny with her boys. Harper was the only girl and wouldn't sit with the boys...

Christmas at the Halls
December 27, 2011 - I thought Christmas at my parents' house would be a little more calm but I was highly mistaken. The boys had just had good experience at my inlaws with presents so it was hard to keep them out of the presents at Grandma and Grandpa's...well, mainly it was Charlie. Philip still didn't quite get the whole present thing yet.
Charlie spent the morning counting and sorting presents. :) He pulled them all out from under the tree, lined them up and counted them. They were even sorted by recipient...
The big items of the night were Charlie's Mater scooter and Philip's Lightning McQueen car...

I was really excited over receiving a Kindle Fire! My parents got one for my sister as well...
