Burt's Pumpkin Farm - 2011

We went back to Burt's Pumpkin Farm in Dawsonville, GA, during October.  The color in the trees was beautiful but not at it's peak.  We went on one of Daniel's Fridays off.  Surprisingly it was quite busy.  My mom and dad had planned a weekend in Blue Ridge the same weekend so they were able to go with us this year.  It was fun having them along.  The pumpkins always range from itty bitty to "you need a forklift" kind of big!
Charlie just loved running around.
Philip was happy to be walking around as well.  He just needed a little help to accomplish this.

We went on a hayride.  Charlie was all excited about riding in the wagon behind the tractor!  We saw the pumpkin patch and some talking pumpkins.

Then, Charlie picked out which pumkins we were taking home...
My aunt and uncle now live in Dawsonville so we were hoping to eat dinner with them.  We managed to meet up with Uncle Dale but my aunt couldn't make it in time...we missed you Aunt Penny!  While we waited on Dale, we went to Amicalola Falls.  We didn't walk all the way up but went for a ways just to appease Charlie.  It was quite hard to convince him to walk back down instead of keep climbing.

Grandpa and Charlie found a big rock that they tried to roll down with us but it was just a little too big.  :)  So, we decided just to take their picture on it instead...

the pumpkin patch

Charlie took his first field trip on Wednesday, October 5, 2011.  His class went to the pumpkin patch for the day.  The moms got to tag along and Philip went as well.  We went on a hayride, fed the animals, took a guided nature walk to look for woodland creatures, stuffed a scarecrow and panned for gems.

I think they all had the best time playing though...

visiting Elba...

Between our trip to the beach and to Mobile, Charlie, Philip and I stayed the week in Elba with grandparents. Yes, my boys got spoiled but I wouldn't expect anything less. I just wish there was some kind of detox program for when we get back to GA after these trips.

The boys had so much fun riding around.  This is pretty much all Charlie does when he's in AL...four-wheeler, golf cart, big wheel, bicycle, lawn mower...there's lots to ride!  Philip got inagurated to the four-wheeler this trip.  Not sure that was the best decision on my part but he loved it!

 Riding into the "jungle"!

Philip had to try out the big wheel as well. He pushed himself all over the garage...backwards. :)
It won't be long before Philip is keeping up with every step Charlie makes but until then, he's having fun his own way...

And, I celebrated a birthday while I was there...
