4 months old

As of yesterday, Charlie is four months old. Time is going by so fast. Everyone keeps saying to enjoy it while I can because it will go by in the blink of an eye. I'm starting to believe them. He's at a real fun stage. He responds to you talking to him with laughs, smiles, and coos. It will just melt your heart. Charlie's alot more active as well, kicking and squirming. Sometimes I have trouble keeping him in my lap. He's doing pretty good holding his head up. He went for his 4 month check-up with the pediatrician today. He weighs 15 pounds and 15 ounces, is 26 inches long, and has a head circumference of 17 1/4". According to all the charts they use, he's in the top percentile. We've still got him on a bedtime routine that seems to be working well. He's sleeping between 8-10 hours before waking to feed and then going back down for 2-3 hours. So, I'm lucky in that I'm getting a full night's rest each night, even if I stay up a little later.

Here are a couple of pictures I took yesterday for his 4 month pictures:

Charlie had his first bite of rice cereal today. I talked with the pediatrician to see if he was ready. He has gotten back down to eating every 2 1/2 - 3 hours so he apparently is needing a little more to sustain him. As you can see from the fat little thighs in his pictures, he's not starving! :) He didn't do all that well with it but I'm sure he'll figure it out soon. He swallowed a few bites but spit most of it out.
