update

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Work has gotten crazy. Life, in general, is just crazy. Let's see...I took number 8 of 9 of my registration exam yesterday. I feel pretty good about it. It feels really weird to think that I only have one test left to take. I found out on Tuesday that I passed #7. That was a relief! This week has been a whirlwind! I can't complain though. I took it all on myself. The weekend was busy with registering and studying. We taped off stripes in the nursery as well. Monday night was, of course, studying. Wednesday night was my last night teaching the teen girls for this quarter. I can't teach this next quarter for obvious reasons. :) So Tuesday night was preparing for the class. Wednesday was church. Last night we started Lamaze classes. These are going to be fun and interesting at the same time! We talked stages of labor, anatomy of a full term pregnant woman, pre-labor signs, when to go to the hospital, etc. Daniel and I really learned alot. The teacher is great so she keeps it interesting. We talked about things that have surprised us about being pregnant and also all the ailments that go along with being pregnant. I was surprised to see that the class was split pretty evenly of who's having boys and who's having girls. It just seems here lately that everytime I hear of someone being pregnant or of someone who just had a baby, it's always a boy. We had a good time though. So...that's been my week.

Mom and Dad are coming into town tonight to visit. I'm really excited to see them. I haven't seen them since the first of January. We just haven't made it home in a while. We're planning on going to Elba in a couple of weeks though. This will be my last trip home before the baby comes. So if any of you Elbians want to see me in the meantime, you'll have to make the trek to GA. We're going to be finishing up as much as we can in the nursery this weekend. I'm anxious to get the crib together and put in the room. It's been killing me to leave it in the box! I finished painting the stripes yesterday afternoon. I'm pulling the tape tonight so we can put the border up tomorrow. I'm really excited!

As for the pregnancy, I am 29 weeks and a couple of days. Just over 7 months. So, only about 10 1/2 weeks till my due date. My mother-in-law says this baby is coming on May 1. She's just ready for this little one to be here, along with the rest of us. I've got the expected aches and pains...backaches, leg cramps, etc. I'm having to learn how to "roll" out of the bed. Daniel's going to have to start pushing/pulling me out pretty soon. It's been a fun experience so far. This little one is pretty active. It seems like he's constantly moving and rolling and kicking. It's been neat to watch my belly move. Everybody keeps asking me about a name...so here's your official announcement: The baby's name will be Charles William Ward. We are going to call him Charlie. Now, watch, after I've told all these people, we'll look at him when he arrives and say, "He just doesn't look like a Charlie." Only time will tell...

Well, I think that's about it. I didn't mean to lay out my whole life story from this week for all the world to read. But, that's what blogging is, right? So, if you have read this far, then I guess you were interested to know.

I will admit that I had a good time at our Lamaze class. When I started thinking about it I realized that the only frame of reference that I had was TV shows and movies. So from that I was prepared to be miserable the entire class. I learned some very valuable things and we didn't even cover the breathing techniques. I'm sure we will learn about them but for me Lamaze had always been synonymous with the breathing techniques.
