July 4th

We went to see fireworks in downtown Kennesaw on the night of July 3rd.  Our next door neighbors invited us to go with them.  They had gone early so we had a great little spot of grass to watch the show.  Here are the boys showing me their glow bracelets...

Ready to watch some fireworks...
Downtown was crazy.  There are so many people there each year so now you understand why we were so happy about our little patch of grass.
But...then comes the rain.  Not just sprinkles...the bottom fell out.  We were getting soaked and were concerned about the lightning so we decided to leave figuring that the fireworks would be cancelled due to the rain.  But, as Charlie, Philip and I were waiting on Daniel to get the car, the show began so we saw a few through the trees and on our way home.
Our next door neighbors' daughter, Jessica, was going to ride home with us.  Since Charlie didn't like the loud sounds of the fireworks, she helped to cover his ears.  :)
But, then he switched to wanting me to cover his ears...
This is how Philip spent our outing.  He was the only one who stayed dry.
We spent the day of the 4th at our friends', the Johnson's, house for a cookout with many other friends.  What a great time we had there as well!
